Continuing from last week, this time I’d like to share more about our visit to the Tachino-ura Container Terminal!✨
We were guided outside from the observation room to a spot with a panoramic view of the port.
Those massive containers we usually look up at from below… Seeing how they’re lifted like this was truly awe-inspiring! (^-^)
After soaking in the stunning views of the port, we got to see a ship loaded with cargo that had just arrived! 😲
We all headed to the dock to see it more clearly.
The gantry crane, said to resemble a giraffe, was right before us!
Seeing it up close was absolutely overwhelming!
This gantry crane can effortlessly lift containers weighing several tonnes. Operating it requires immense concentration and skill to perfectly align the crane hook with each container from the control room. We were truly amazed by the operators’ expertise!
It was incredibly moving to witness firsthand how the containers we interact with daily are exported and imported around the world! ✨
We all came away deeply impressed and thoroughly satisfied with this unforgettable experience!
